Ceratopteris Cornuta is a classic aquatic fern that is popular in the planted tank hobby. This species of Water Sprite produces broader leaf lobes and is light green in coloration. It is commonly used as a floating plant in breeding tanks, but can also be planted into aquarium substrate and treated as a normal stem plant. Ceratopteris Cornuta is a prolific grower and is a great source of natural filtration as the plant readily absorbs excess nutrients in the aquarium. Water Sprite is undemanding and will tolerate a wide variety of conditions making it a favorite amongst beginner hobbyists and breeders.
As Water Sprite grows quickly, it has the potential to grow unruly if not maintained and pruned regularly. We recommend this aquarium plant for the midground and background aquatic plant choices in a planted tank. It is suitable for the larger spectrum of nano aquarium tanks to larger standard sizes. Propagation is simple and trimmed stems can be replanted into quality aquarium soil.
