Tissue culture plants are cultivated in sterile lab settings ensuring your plant is free from pests, snails and algae! These are young specimen that are grown in emersed forms. Gel should always be removed prior to planting.

LIVE PLANTS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO STRESS AND DAMAGE FROM TRANSIT - This may appear in the form of minimal melt, leaf loss, cosmetic damage, etc. Refunds or replacements will not be issued for plants with viable root systems or that die out of our care.

Cryptocoryne Affinis Red is a species of Cryptocoryne that can be found growing densely in groups located in western Malaysia. Cryptocoryne Affinis Red is comparable in appearance to that of Cryptocoryne Wendtii and Cryptocoryne Beckettii. However because those species are much easier to propagate, Crypt Affinis isn't as widely available now. This fact makes it much more appealing to Cryptocoryne enthusiasts and it is now considered a highly coveted species within the planted tank hobby.

Cryptocoryne Affinis Red features smooth leaves that vary in green coloration, with a deep reddish-brown hue bordering its leaves. Cryptocoryne Affinis Red can vary in size and the final size is determined by the environment in which it is kept. When provided with strong lighting and CO2, Cryptocoryne Affinis Red grows shorter and flatter with a wider spread. The alternative yields heights of around 15 inches, if the low-tech environment is optimal. Cryptocoryne species are fairly hardy once adapted to the aquarium but do not appreciate being moved around so once a spot is chosen, care should be taken to not disturb the plant and parameters within the tank should not fluctuate too quickly.

Propagation is done by splitting the rhizome or cutting off new growth and replanting.
