Cryptocoryne Blassii, now more commonly known as Cryptocoryne Cordata Var. Blassii, is a beautiful beginner friendly Cryptocoryne plant. Admired for its broad, olive-brownish leaves with a wine underside, Crypt Blassii works well in low tech planted aquariums or in areas of a planted tank that are shaded by hardscape or light loving aquarium plant species. Like most Cryptocoryne species, Crypt Blassii does not prefer to be moved once planted so being mindful of this will go a long way in preventing Crypt melt. Crypt Blassii is generally easy to maintain once established in a planted aquarium and will grow at a steady pace. While it isn't required, most aquarium plants will enjoy and experience much better growth in a planted tank that is fully established and is provided with CO2 injection, quality planted aquarium soil, and quality lighting.
