Eriocaulon Setaceum is a beautiful aquarium stem plant that challenges its growers. In the wild, Eriocaulon Setaceum grows in stagnant and flowing waters in Southeast Asia and Australia. Comparable in care Tonina species, Eriocaulon Setaceum requires very specific parameters for successful growth. A quality substrate, soft water, high lighting, and CO2 injection are basic requirements to keep this Erio happy so this aquarium plant is recommended for seasoned aquarists.

If successful, Eriocaulon Setaceum produces needle-like leaves that are very light green to almost white. This Erio has the ability to grow quite tall in cultivated settings and will happily produce lateral shoots to produce a bushy appearance when happy. Pruning can be done the same as other aquarium stem plants but should be done sparingly as Eriocaulon Setaceum does not respond well to trimming. One should also consider a  consistent supply of micro and macronutrients as a key to its survival and growth.
