Micranthemum Micranthemoides, aka Pearl Weed, is a classic stem plant commonly used in planted tanks. This particular aquarium stem offers bright green coloration and its smaller size is ideal for creating dense bushes in nano planted tanks. Pearl Weed's scientific name is very similar to Micranthemum Monte Carlo, but the two should not be confused as growth patterns are different as well as overall leaf shapes. Pearlweed is versatile and relatively undemanding, making it a popular choice amongst newer hobbyists who have some experience under their belts. Micranthemum Micranthemoides is a prolific grower when well-established and will require regular pruning to keep the desired shape and to produce bushy areas.

Pearl Weed can grow without CO2, but the addition will skyrocket growth rate. Compact growth can be obtained with higher lighting while insufficient lighting may yield undesired leggy growth.
