Lobelia cardinalis can be found growing wild in North America. When grown in captivity, this plant is cultivated in marshy and bog-like environments resulting in the plant's leaves displaying a dark green coloration with purple undersides. When used in a planted aquarium tank, Lobelia Cardinalis is a striking light green and makes a lovely midground or background aquatic plant choice dependent upon the size of the aquarium tank being utilized. Highly versatile, Lobelia Cardinalis can also be grown in outdoor garden pond setups and when grown above the water's surface, it produces flowers with a deep scarlet red coloration.
Propagate by trimming stems and replanting or pulling apart dense clumps and splitting the roots.
