Mayaca Sellowiniana is quite elusive as there is not much information available regarding this aquatic plant native to South America. It is commonly misidentified as other popular, better-known species such as Rotala Sp. Nanjenshan. Mayaca Sellowiniana is characterized by narrow, lime green, needle-like leaves that grow compact to its stem. When planted in groups, it creates dense foliage and works best as background accents. It will adapt to a wide range of environments and is generally easy to care for but will require consistent trimming as it grows quickly. This is a great complementary aquatic stem plant when planted amongst red aquatic stem plants or other feathery plants such as Rotala Wallichii.
