Myriophyllum Guyana is a beautiful aquarium plant that is still relatively difficult to obtain in the planted tank hobby. This smaller aquatic plant species, like other Myriophyllum, features wispy, feather-like foliage that retains a vivid green hue. If provided with optimal conditions such as quality aquarium tank lighting, nutrient dense aquarium soil and a regular fertilizing routine, Myriophyllum Guyana branches willingly and has the capability to produce a dense and lush bush. Its moderate growth pace also makes this aquatic plant a perfect choice for nano-sized planted aquarium tanks as it will be much easier to keep under control when compared to fast-growing aquatic stem plants. Great for a decorative focal point, we recommend using Myriophyllum Guyana as a beautiful midground in a larger planted aquarium tank or as the background in a nano-sized planted aquarium tank.
Propagation is similar to other aquatic stem plants. Simply replant the trimmings into a quality aquarium soil. In addition, enough space should be left between stems to ensure that light is able to filter through to the lower leaves.
