In the wild, Philodendron are fantastic climbers and will appreciate a sturdy moss pole to climb on and traverse. When provided with optimal conditions, Philodendron put out aerial roots that may be air-layered for safe propagation once mature. We recommend providing Philodendron Burle Marx Variegata with bright, indirect lighting. This can be in the form of indoor lighting with units like the ONF Aditya Plant Lamp or in a southern exposure. East-facing windows are good too along with western exposures, but the plant should be monitored to ensure lighting is not excessively direct as this may result in damage or burning of the plant. Pruning does not need to be frequent, but older leaves or foliage with visible damage can be removed to encourage new growth.
