Pre filter sponges offer a convenient and cost-effective method for ensuring the safety of your aquarium tank inhabitants. This pre filter sponge slips snugly over the intake or inflow pipe of a hang on back aquarium filter, canister filter and lily pipe. This pre filter attachment features a universal fit and has been tested for compatibility with all aquarium filters we have on our website. It is made from soft material and can also be cut down to needed size to accommodate short nano inflow pipes or smaller aquarium filters. We recommend using a pre filter sponge to aid in keeping filters cleaner by trapping larger pieces of debris. It also helps prevent accidental livestock death as smaller species and shrimplets are easily sucked up by the filter.

This prefilter sponge can be used in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and is easy to clean by gently rinsing it in aquarium water during routine maintenance.
