IMPORTANT: Our bunched and potted aquarium plants may vary in growth forms. Because of this, please understand how to properly transition and acclimate plant(s) into desired form(s). We do our best to thoroughly clean and inspect all plants prior to shipment but cannot guarantee lead bunch or potted plants to be free from snails and/or algae. Not your thing? Please consider purchasing tissue culture aquarium plants.

LIVE PLANTS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO STRESS AND DAMAGE FROM TRANSIT - This may appear in the form of minimal melt, leaf loss, cosmetic damage, etc. Refunds or replacements will not be issued for plants with viable root systems.

Rotala Mexicana is a beautiful variation of Rotala. This aquarium stem plant features thin foliage that varies in shades of green to orange-red depending on care and overall environment. Like other forms of Rotala, Rotala Mexicana will appreciate a nutrient-dense aquarium soil along with softer water, quality lighting, CO2 injection and a premium source of nutrition via dosing. When given optimal care, Rotala Mexicana is a prolific grower and will require periodic trimming to ensure lower portions of the plant are receiving light. Pruning should also be done to maintain the desired look and any offshoots can be replanted into the soil to produce a bushy appearance.

Like other aquarium stem plants, Rotala Mexicana can be grown in emersed conditions. When kept out of submerged aquarium settings, Rotala Mexicana exhibits a different form. Emersed leaves are slightly rounded, primarily green in color and tend to be more wide spread along the central stem. Differences in form can be seen in the photos.
