Staurogyne Sp. Bihar is an aquatic plant that was originally mistaken as a Hygrophila species. Upon seeing its flowering characteristics, it was suggested that this aquatic plant belonged to the Staurogyne genus. When grown submerged, it features foliage that is slightly lobed, resembling an aquarist’s favorite, Hygrophila Pinnatifida. Staurogyne Bihar’s coloration varies with a mix of olive greens to reddish brown hues. More readily available in the aquarium hobby here in the states, this aquatic plant is still considered to be quite rare and is almost non-existent in European countries as well.
