Tiger Wood is the perfect centerpiece-type aquarium driftwood. Its spindly stump-like form and complex root structure emulates an underwater tree appearance. Combined with its varying brown tones, it also is a top contender for a biotope aquarium. With its twists and turns, Tiger Wood provides plenty areas of shade and shelter for skittish fish and fry to dwell.
All aquarium driftwood will discolor water. This is normal, harmless and is caused by tannins. Tannins are what give aquarium water a brown or tea colored tint. This can be commonly seen in black water aquariums or biotope aquarium setups. Some hobbyists prefer this look and there are also benefits to having tannins in your water. Some benefits include softer water while also providing an environment that more closely mimics most tropical species environments found in the wild. The color will lighten and dissipate over time with routine water changes and maintenance. If you do not prefer this look, you can remove tannins from your aquarium with this product!
