Trichomanes Javanicum, more commonly referred to as Borneo Fern, is a beautiful fern plant that is commonly used in terrarium, paludarium and vivarium settings. While it is commonly sold for aquarium-use, this fern is not a true aquatic species and is not suitable for long-term fully submerged aquarium conditions. In its natural habitat, the Borneo Fern grows in shaded wetlands and can be found near small bodies of waters or at the base of stones and trees. The Borneo fern can be considered a bristle fern or filmy fern and can be identified by its unique, semi-translucent foliage. It is a very delicate plant that is sensitive to intense light and dry heat.
